LED panel lights can turn yellow for several reasons

There are several reasons why the LED panel light will turn yellow when using the edge light type:

Light Guide Plates (LGP) are an effective and simple way to spread the light very evenly, avoiding the risk of bright spots. The best LGPs are made of acrylic (PMMA), which has very high light transmittance and won't yellow over time.

The presence of LGP means that diffusers are not just responsible for spreading the light evenly, so low-cost materials can be used in diffusers, provided they don't yellow over time.

No lenses are required, and the edge-lit design accommodates a variety of different LED beam angles.

The heat from the LED chips is dissipated through the frame, so the rear is lightweight and doesn't get hot, so drivers can be placed here if needed.

In order to reduce the cost of edge-lit panels, inexpensive materials and assembly processes. This mostly involves LGP. Use polystyrene (PS) LGP, but without adding UV stabilizers, they will yellow over time and the center of the panel will darken while the periphery remains bright. In addition, the light transmittance of PS is lower than that of PMMA.
